The International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) is an annual International Seminar organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. This event is a forum for practitioners, researchers and scientists to share developments and advances in science, to exchange ideas, and to collaborate through discussion rooms. This conference responds several recent developments related to infrastructure that plays an important role in global competitiveness, enhances economic progress and reduces poverty. Although infrastructure progress from planning to operation has made some progress, most developing countries still experience problems in accessing infrastructure as weel as other inadequate qualities and reliabilities. In addition, infrastructure expansion often comes at the expense of the local environment and in the long run can lead to climate change.
The implementation of the International Seminar at the Faculty of Engineering in 2020 is held simultaneously with the theme "Technology Enhancement to Support Vocational Competence and Freedom to Learn". This agenda is opened by Mr. Wikan Sakarinto, PH.D. as the Director General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia on Monday, October 5, 2020, using a virtual zoom meeting application due to the Covid-19 pandemic . After the opening talk , it was continued with the Parallel Session of the International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI). The 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI 2020) has the theme "Sustainability in the built environment, presenting relevant engineering research, demonstrations and applications that contribute to competitiveness and well-being".
Prof. Atsushi Fukuda from the Department of Transportation Systems Engineering, Nihon University - Japan. and Prof. Ts. Dr, Salwani Mohd Daud from Advanced Informatics Schools, Universiti Teknology Malaysia - Malaysia become the main speaker in this International Seminar. ICSI 2020 has received 104 article titles from domestic and abroad participant who presented at the Parallel Session. All articles presented in the Parallel Session were published on the ICSI Organizing Committee youtube account.
